Introducing the Opening Artist Roster of art[LAB] Luxe Gallery

As art[LAB] Luxe Gallery prepares to open its doors, we are proud to present Form & After: Beyond the Object — the gallery's inaugural showcase bringing together a curated roster of 11 contemporary artists from across India.

More than an exhibition, Form & After is an exploration of how art exists beyond the confines of the object itself. The showcase investigates the relationship between form, material, space, atmosphere, and experience, bringing together practices that challenge traditional distinctions between art, craft, design, and architecture.

The exhibition features artists working across sculpture, ceramics, kinetic art, origami, collectible design, parametric experimentation, mixed media, spatial installations, and material-led contemporary practices. While each artist brings a unique visual language and creative process, together they form a collective dialogue around the evolving nature of contemporary artistic expression.

At the heart of the exhibition lies a simple question:

What happens after an object enters a space?

Once created, an artwork begins a second life. It interacts with architecture, responds to light, influences movement, and shapes the emotional character of its surroundings. It becomes more than a standalone piece—it becomes part of an experience.

The opening roster reflects this idea through works that engage with materiality, memory, movement, craft, technology, emotion, and spatial presence.

A Roster of Distinct Contemporary Voices

What makes Form & After unique is not only the diversity of mediums represented, but the diversity of perspectives that each artist brings to the conversation.

The opening roster brings together practitioners working across sculpture, ceramics, kinetic systems, origami, object design, digital fabrication, parametric art, mixed media, and material experimentation. Some artists engage deeply with traditional craft techniques and handmade processes, while others explore contemporary technologies, computational systems, movement, and fabrication-driven methodologies.

Within the exhibition, viewers will encounter hand-built ceramic forms that celebrate tactility and imperfection, intricate paper constructions that transform a humble material into sculptural landscapes, kinetic installations that introduce movement as a living dimension of art, and sculptural works that investigate memory, emotion, and human experience through metal and mixed media.

The showcase also includes artists whose practices blur the boundaries between art, architecture, and design. Through digitally fabricated forms, collectible objects, lighting installations, and spatial interventions, these works challenge conventional ideas of both art and function, inviting viewers to engage with objects as experiences rather than possessions.

Despite their varied approaches, the artists are connected by a shared curiosity towards material, process, and transformation. Each work reflects a unique interpretation of how form is created, experienced, and ultimately understood within space.

Some works emerge through slow, handcrafted making. Others are driven by engineering, movement, algorithms, or experimentation. Together, they represent a contemporary landscape where tradition and technology, craft and computation, object and environment coexist in conversation.

It is this diversity of voices, materials, and methodologies that gives Form & After its richness—offering visitors not a singular narrative, but a constellation of perspectives on what contemporary art can be today.

The opening showcase features a carefully curated roster of contemporary practitioners, including:

• Sanyam Jain (House of Katachi)• Yogvedant Poddar (studioyogvedant)• Anuj Anjaria (studiomotionworks)• Sushant Verma • Shaheen Mehra Suri• Sabera Akbary (origami mom)• Aparna Malpani (theobjektgallery)• Yashasvi Handa • Neeraj Rawal• Vaishali Gupta (Springflies Design)• Glyptic Arts

Together, these artists represent a broad spectrum of contemporary practice—from handcrafted ceramic forms and folded paper constructions to kinetic installations, sculptural objects, digitally fabricated works, collectible design pieces, and immersive spatial interventions.

The Vision Behind art[LAB] Luxe Gallery

For art[LAB] Luxe Gallery, this exhibition also marks the beginning of a larger vision.

Conceived as a platform for contemporary artistic practices, the gallery aims to bring together emerging and established artists, architects, designers, makers, collectors, and cultural enthusiasts through a shared appreciation for material experimentation, craftsmanship, and spatial storytelling.

Emerging from years of creating bespoke art installations and experiential environments across architecture, hospitality, commercial, and luxury residential projects, the gallery extends this understanding of art into a dedicated contemporary platform.

At its core, art[LAB] Luxe Gallery seeks to create opportunities for meaningful engagement with contemporary art—where works are not simply displayed, but experienced. A space where art becomes part of an environment, where materials tell stories, and where contemporary practices can exist in dialogue with architecture, craft, technology, and culture.

Beyond the Object

With Form & After: Beyond the Object, we invite viewers into a conversation about how art shapes space, how materials carry meaning, and how contemporary practices continue to expand the boundaries of artistic expression.

This opening showcase is not about presenting objects alone. It is about presenting ideas, processes, materials, and experiences that continue to evolve long after the artwork has been created.

A dialogue between form and atmosphere.

Between craft and technology.

Between object and experience.

And ultimately, between art and the people who encounter it.
